The Ackermans’ story of a shared life and work spanning six decades is explored in conversations with Jerry Ackerman and his daughter, Laura Ackerman-Shaw, and features interviews with noted design experts Jonathan Adler, Dale Carolyn Gluckman, Jeffrey Head, David Keeps, Jo Lauria, Peter Loughrey, and Gerard O’Brien. With original drawings, vintage installations, and personal and product photographs from the Ackerman archives, the 22-minute film illuminates the Ackermans’ role in the distinctive aesthetic of California mid-century modernism.
