Once upon a time an unlikely restaurant and galler Once upon a time an unlikely restaurant and gallery called The Egg and The Eye opened on Wilshire Blvd. in LA. Last night, a 60th anniversary benefit celebrated its founder, Edith R. Wyle, with her family in attendance. Through its evolution from that institution to the Craft and Folk Art Museum and now to Craft Contemporary, the Ackermans were proudly affiliated over the decades. In the historical overview curated by @jolauria_curator we spotted materials from the 2011 show “A Marriage of Art and Design” and in the fabulous shop, the new book. We’re so excited that Executive Director @rodyn.lopez invited us to mount another Ackerman exhibition opening the end of September. Celebrating 60 years of The Egg and The Eye! On Ma Celebrating 60 years of The Egg and The Eye! On May 10 @craftcontemporary is putting on a party worthy of the 60s in honor of founder Edith Wyle and the organization she established in Los Angeles in 1965. A blend of art gallery, store, and restaurant, it offered quality crafts, world art, handmade items, and a restaurant that specialized in omelets as its name would suggest. The event also recognizes artist @bariziperstein.
