A tale of two tapestries. Originally designed in 1 A tale of two tapestries. Originally designed in 1958 and called Abstract, the design was handwoven in Mexico until 1963-4 (left image). In 1970, production was resumed, this time as a hand hooked wall hanging called Window Abstract made in Japan for two years (right image). A beautiful early example of the woven tapestry is coming up in @lamodernauctions American Design auction on September 23. #design #lamodernauctions @wrightauction #evelynackerman #jeromeackerman #evelynandjeromeackerman #craft #womendesigners #midcenturymodern #midcentury #jerryackerman #eames #alexandergirard #californiadesign

The pattern in Evelyn’s original drawing of the The pattern in Evelyn’s original drawing of the Stallion tapestry inspired one of the plates in the Corvo dinnerware line @cb2. Featured in @dwellmagazine with other classic midcentury designs like Louis Poulsen’s pendant, the black and white motif is applied by skilled artisans in Portugal in alignment with the Ackermans’ commitment to craft. We love the salad plate (with lots of other uses) and it’s on a rare sale. #cb2 #mycb2 #dinner #evelynackerman #dwellmagazine #fiestaware #design #evelynandjeromeackerman #portugal #ceramics #jeromeackerman #californiadesign #jerryackerman #midcenturymodern #louispoulsen #womendesigners
